Welcome, Mama

First off - thank you for considering me to document such a sacred and fleeting season in your life. Whether you’re soaking in that newborn scent or preparing to bring your baby home, I’m honored you’re here.

This page will walk you through what to expect if you choose to work with me, along with a peek into some of my work.

I offer both in-home and studio lifestyle newborn photography, capturing the real, raw, love-soaked moments with your little one. These sessions are some of my favorites, they allow us to document the true essence of life with a new baby: snuggly, unfiltered, and deeply beautiful.

Does Our Session Vision Align?

To give you the most beautiful and consistent images, my editing style pairs best with muted or neutral tones. Bright or bold colors can reflect onto baby’s skin and create unnatural color casts, so I always recommend choosing soft, earthy hues for outfits and décor.

Natural light is also a must. I shoot primarily near windows using soft, even daylight—so we’ll turn off any overhead lights and open up the blinds to let that natural glow do its thing.

Where will the session take place?

For in-home sessions, the most common spots I use are the nursery, master bedroom, and living room- anywhere that feels lived-in and full of love. We might use cribs, beds, dressers, couches, rockers, or whatever space feels natural.

Natural light is key, so I’m always looking for rooms with large windows. When I arrive, we’ll take a quick look around together and choose the coziest, best-lit spots for your session.

How long are newborn sessions?

In a perfect world with no breaks, these could wrap in 30 minutes, but we all know babies run the show.

Typically, I expect to spend 1 to 1.5 hours photographing your session, but I don’t set a hard time limit. If we need to pause for feeding, diaper changes, or baby snuggles, we absolutely will.

My goal is to create images that you’ll treasure for a lifetime, and that takes a little patience and a lot of heart. I’ll work at baby’s pace to make sure we capture every sweet, authentic moment.

Scheduling Your Session

We’ll schedule your session based on your due date, then once baby arrives, we’ll finalize the perfect day and time.

If your little one is already here, don’t worry!

Reach out as soon as possible and I’ll do my best to get you on the calendar.

I recommend photographing newborns within the first two weeks of life, while baby is still teeny, sleepy, and snuggly- that sweet window when they’re extra cozy in your arms.

The earlier you reach out (even while you’re still pregnant), the better I can plan ahead and save space for your session.

Feedings

I always allow extra time during newborn sessions to follow baby’s natural rhythm - whether that means pausing for a feeding, a diaper change, or just a few extra snuggles.

We’re fully on baby’s schedule, and that’s exactly how it should be.

If you’d like to include breastfeeding images, I’m more than happy to capture those beautiful moments. And if things don’t go as planned? No stress at all, newborn life is beautifully unpredictable, and I’m here for it all.

Props:

Because my newborn sessions are focused on capturing the real story of your family, I like to keep props minimal and meaningful.

If you have a special heirloom, blanket, or item that holds sentimental value (like the Cowboy’s jersey from a recent session!), I’m more than happy to incorporate it in a way that feels natural and true to your family’s style.

If you're unsure about whether something will photograph well, just ask - I’m always happy to chat through ideas and help you prepare!

What You’ll Receive

You’ll get a full online gallery of hand-edited, high-resolution digital images - ready for downloading, printing, and sharing with loved ones.

For newborn sessions, the number of final images can vary based on your baby’s mood, the lighting, the space, and whether siblings or family members are included. That said, you can typically expect at least 30+ images in your final gallery.

Please note: I do not deliver raw or unedited images

Important tips to help your newborn session run smoothly:

Keep Baby Cozy

A warm baby is a happy baby! To help us get those snuggly, sleepy shots, please make sure the house isn’t chilly. Turn off ceiling fans and consider bumping up the thermostat a bit if needed.

Aim for Awake Time

If you’re hoping for those dreamy, sleepy photos, try to keep baby awake for 1–2 hours before the session. A little play or bath time beforehand can help tire them out just enough to snooze through the magic.

Tidy Just the Photo Areas

You don’t need a spotless house, promise. Just a quick declutter in the rooms we’ll be shooting (like the nursery or bedroom) is perfect. I'm a mom of three, I totally get it.

I Love When Family Gets Involved

While some families prefer photos of just baby (and that’s totally okay), I gently encourage parents to consider being in the frame.

Wearing a complementary neutral or muted outfit and joining in adds beautiful connection and emotional depth to your gallery. The simple act of holding, cuddling, or gently resting your hand on baby can bring your images to life in a whole new way.

I promise you don’t have to feel “photo ready”, I’m not here for perfection. I’m here to capture love, closeness, and those in-between moments you’ll never want to forget.

Trust me, I can deliver so much more when you’re part of the story.
